Anyone having trouble grouping with a Master carry ultra? This thing is spraying all over the place.

Sawguy, first I don't own a Master Carry Ultra but I do own several different Ultra model Kimber's. All of them have been accurate right out of the box, some new, some used. Two or three of them have tighter groups than the others.

I think for us to help we will need more information!

1. Are you new to 1911's or shooting in general?
2. Is your Master Carry Ultra brand new?
3. How many rounds have you fired thru it?
4. Was it cleaned and lubed well prior to firing? (Per manual)
5. What ammo are you using?
6. Have you tired different ammo?
7. Define spraying all over. Are rounds at least hitting the paper?
8. What distance are you shooting, 7 yards? 50 feet?...
9. Have you disassembled pistol and checked for any broken or worn parts?
10. Maybe a pic of your spray and pray target.

Hopefully others will jump in as we get more information.

Lubed according to manual, yes it's new, fired about 50 rounds so far, not new to shooting ( have a master carry pro, sig 226, ruger sp101 and various others.) 1 shot out of 7 will hit the paper from 25', otherwise they are all over the place. No jams so far so that's good. Tried 2 different ammo's PMC and Mag Tec

Right now all I got is let someone else shoot it and see if it does the same thing. If you have not already tried that.

Just on the odd chance, are either the front or rear site loose in the dovetails? even the slightest?

Try bringing your target in closer and shooting from a rest.

I checked the sights and they are tight. I'm going to try again this evening and move the target closer like mentioned. All the other pistols I have do not act like this, but this is the only one I have with a 3 " barrel.

When I got my first Ultra size Kimber I learned that while the gun was as accurate as my 4" and 5" Kimbers it was a learning process to shoot it accurately.

After what everyone has asked and you answered I suspect it has something to do with the skin an bone laying on the trigger. Get a trigger finger placement chart online and see if you can work on pad placement and see if that helps. It may just take a little serious practice. I have a consistent shot placement to the low left. A little practice with the placement chart and things got worked out.
