Pro Carry (Series 1)

I just this morning saw and snagged an early Kimber Pro Carry -- not a Pro Carry II - at my favorite LGS. I had a Series II for a while and regretted letting it go.

So I took it home, put fresh VZ grips on it, and tossed the Kimber magazine in a drawer. , I will use only Wilsons with polymer followers to protect aluminum feed ramp.

CORRECTION: I did fit Wilson Flat Recoil Spring system. See below...

Nice lady at Kimber said this pistol was made in September 2000.

I like this baby ..anybody else wanna share some knowledge about these Series 1 Pro Carry pistols?

I have 2 Pro models both series II. I love em both. The real difference is you do not have that swartz safety feature. The older ones may have been put together with a little more attention to detail. That is a good looking Kimber I the grips!

Because the Flat Wire recoil spring has a smaller inside diameter you have to use Wilson Combats full-length recoil guide rod and reverse spring plug. It doesn't matter whether your gun is a series I or series II, the FW spring won't fit on a Kimber guide rod.

First very nice score, I would have bought that one myself.
I don't know how much knowledge is here on that early Pro Carry, I don't think a lot of members here have one or they are keeping it on the down low.
The best I can do is, I have a SIS Pro which is 70 series. Mine is a accurate firearm, reliable. To be honest I have not found any advantage of the 70 series over a Series II as far as function or accuracy.

Nice gun. If you find you don't like it, I can give you my FFL shipping address.

I'm very compassionate.
