Wilson 8 rd Mags in a Raptor Pro II

Does anyone else have problem with getting a full Wilson (47D) 8 rd magazine into your Kimber with the slide in battery? I can't for the life of me get an 8 rd Wilson to seat in my Raptor Pro II, unless I take a round out.

I run them in mine, either 47D's or 500 ETM's. Gotta mean it when you seat the mag. I'm guessing you're using brand new mags? Mine got easier after the springs wore in, but ya still gotta mean it. I screwed the pooch at Sundays IDPA match by not seating the mag fully. Costs a lotta time!

They are fairly new mags. I got 4 of them. I guess I'll keep all of them loaded for a while.

Been thinking about starting to use the Raptor for Idpa. Just have to get used to the different handling. Been carrying Austrian plastic all my life. The Raptor is a different animal. It is the most accurate handgun I have ever owned though.

I have a few 47D's and as mentioned you have 'to mean it' or they will not lock in. I am glad you are enjoying the Raptor, as you are learning, they will shoot far better than we are (OK, me) capable of.

When I took my carry class a retired new Mexico state police officer look at my gun. My super carry custom, and said you know that gun is better than you will ever be able to shoot it. At the time I was thinking what an ass, lol A year later I realize that he was right.

Nothing a few years time and 20,000 rounds of ammo couldn't resolve.

I am working on it gator, still have several thousand to go. the one target is my last visit to the range. I am left handed and pull a little to the right. the shots to the far right of the target where a sw mp shield 9mm I shot for the first time, and I sucked lol. the others are my 45 Kimber, desert warrior I believe . the bad part the other target is my wife shooting a sw mp compact 22, that was her second time ever shooting a gun in her life. she made me took pretty bad.

Thor,
I finally got my Pro Raptor II stainless last week. Cleaned and lubed it before going to the range like you said to do. I have 200 rounds through her using 2 WC 47DC lo-profile base pad mags. The gun and mags have been flawless, no issues inserting an 8 rd mag into my gun with slide closed. Again, thank you for all your advice last month.
