Unexpected development

Well, this is interesting.

Since I took off the CTs from my Ultra, now when I'm "posturing" for "the shot" and practicing my target acquisitions, I noticed there are no dots on my iron sites.

I have already shot the gun on two different occasions and never even noticed.

Seems to me the only time it really could become an issue would be at night.

Should I just get some Illumination paint and dot the sites or should I have them replaced with something like what came on my Raptor? I know it's personal preference and for the time being I may just leave as is. I mean I shot it twice without that becoming a problem and think I did fairly well for accuracy. Just probably won't be carrying at night.

Well like you say it is a matter of preference. If you are forced to use yours in self defense chances are it is going to be up close and personal so chances are you would be pointing and pulling the trigger not a lot of time to use sights in those situations. As far as target shooting goes practice with it it and see if you are satisfied with your accuracy and how quickly you acquire your target then maybe you keep it stock. You can add night sights if you are not happy at a later date.

I prefer night sights over all black. I like the tactical wedge sights on the Raptor.

This will shock and amaze the younger crowd and hit home with us older members. Back in the day before "glowing night sights," my revolvers sported a dab of bright Red finger nail polish...it is still in use on a few of them.

I prefer night sights, I have them on every gun I'd consider carry worthy.

I use white enamel. I put a line on either side of the rear sight and paint the entire sighting surface of the front. It is more then easy enough to see, even in very dim lighting situations. Certainly clear enough to ensure you are shooting the right target.
