New CDP vs CDP II

I notice Kimber is listing non-Kali guns without the II now. Does this mean they have removed the Swartz Safety on the rest or is it just that they now use the II to signify Kali Guns?

I finally bought a 1911 (Couldn't resist a new Compact CDP II for normal discounted Custom II price). I just wondered if the low price had anything to do with the missing II on most other CPD models.

Welcome to the forum from northern Illinois Weeble, the II indicates the gun has the firing pin safety. It has nothing to do with California approved guns.

How about stopping by our New Member Introduction sub forum and introducing yourself to the membership.

I understand the Series I and the Series II. What I don't understand is why the "Federal Guns" on the Kimber Site have no "II" designation in the listing and the ones under "California" have the "II" designation.

No "II" designation listed on any of the pistols under the CDP heading on the Kimber Site.

No Compact CDP is listed under the CDP heading on the site you have to go to the California Section to find it and it has the "II" designation as do all the pistols under California.

So my questions are:
1. Is it simply an oversight on Kimber's part?
2. Has Kimber reintroduced guns without the Swartz?
3. Have they dropped the "II" Designation with no substantive changes (On Federal Guns).
4. Did they leave the California Guns designation the same to avoid certification issues in California?

Thanks.

I don't know what makes or breaks a California compliant gun, they are a strange state with some strange gun laws. Maybe a member from California will explain the laws to us. Looking at Kimbers list of compliant guns they only show the Warrior without the II designation all the others have the II.

How can we explain what they refuse to explain properly and LOGICALLY to us?

It's all about them controlling the populace, not of guns.

The new guns without the "II" designation don't have the Swartz firing pin safety.

So Kimber is making 1911's without the Swartz now for non-California consumption....Interesting

I guess that helps explain the deal I got on a CDP II . Of course the Compact has always been the redheaded step-child (most heavily discounted) of the CDP line.

With the absence of the Compact from the non-II CDP Line (New Series I or Series III?) I have to wonder if it may be discontinued as well?
