Update 2017 Kimber CDP Pro in 9mm

1000 rounds of Federal American Eagle 9mm Luger Ammo 147 Grain Full Metal Jacket was ordered with Target Sports USA.

Price is little less than Freedom Munitions.
(And delivery time 3 days.)

( 5000 Round Ammo Supply )

So far have fired 150 rounds of the Federal without failure.

The other day with a clean CDP; I loaded 2 magazines with FM 147 just to see.

Results 8 stovepipes in 2 magazines.

Heck go figure.

But once again the Micro 9 and P226 Legion will eat the F.M. ammo?

It defies logic but some pistols prefer certain ammo???

Target Sports USA does have really good sales going on lately. If Federal ammo works I'd stick with it. I've always had good results from Federal Ammo.

Dadgum DGM, hard to understand, but documentation of these sorts of results keep us all informed. Thanks!

Timing must be a little off. Either the spring is slightly heavy or the FM a little weaker than the Fed. (Just a SWAG)

According to their websites, Federal American Eagle 147 muzzle is 1,000 fps and Freedom Munitions 147 is 925 fps. The slide is probably not cycling back enough with the FM. If the spring were slightly lighter, the stove pipes may go away.

Just another SWAG

I suspect the pistol will work fine with most Standard Velocity 147 grain (around 990 fps).

At 925 fps those loads appear to be lighter than Winchester Train (950 fps) which is a reduced recoil load.

If you like those loads just install a lighter recoil spring.

Honesty, I order all my ammo from Target Sports, free shipping by the case along with fast and easy ordering & delivery.

I always use the Federal American Eagle and never have an issue in any of my 1911's. Even a newly purchased Micro 9 (that many complain about) ran flawlessly last week.

When they have been out of Federal I have bought Speer Lawmen and MagTech and have not had any issues either.

Life's to short for cheap and sh*tty ammo
