Kimber long slide 10mm

New Kimber catalog is out. Shows a stainless long slide in 10mm! Oh man I might have to take the plunge on that.

I hope everyone goes for the 10mm .... so I can scarf up one in .45.

A guy in the IPSC club I used to shoot with had an Long Slide back in the '80s. I think it was an AMT. I shot it a couple of times and it was a different feel from the 5" guns. And I love the extra sight radius.

I'm enthused about the renewed interest in the 10mm. In my opinion, there was no reason that it didn't take off and eclipse all the other big handgun calibers. I was more than miffed when the FBI abandoned the full-load 10mm in favor of the 10mm P-load. Don't ask me what the "P" means.

This all opened the door for the .40, which is essentially the weak sister of the real 10mm. The whole thing is still baffling to me. Everybody is seeking +P performance. They can get it in the 10mm, but they dumb it down and embrace the wimpy .40.

It's a good thing we have choices.

Seems all the manufacturers are producing 10mm handguns the popularity has grown a lot in the last fews years. I know I really like shooting it. I would love a Six inch with the leupold site on it Would be fun for long range taget practice. Would like to try hunting some varmits or predators with one.

I would think this would be a very well behaved weapon for the larger calibers, such as the 10mm, .460 that Chuck likes, and I have a Springfiled in 45 Super, which is a complete joy to take out in the field.
