Christmas Part II
Most of you know on Black Friday EKG post some guns on sale. I thought the SS Ultra TLE II 45 was a great price and decided to buy one. It was $699+$31 shipping and $30 for the transfer.(new old stock) Thanks again for the heads up EKG.
Yesterday my new gun arrived at my FFL and I was able to pick it up after work. This morning I broke it down, gave it a cleaning with Hoppes #9 and lubed it up with some FP-10.
I got to the range at 10:00am and it was pretty quiet there, the snow probably had something to do with that. I shot 200 rounds of FM 230gr reman. The gun performed 100%, not one hiccup which is what I expected. I was surprised at how well I shot today for my first outing with this gun. I was a little worried I wasnít going to care for a 45 with a 3Ē barrel but I was very wrong.
The Tactical Gray Grips were very impressive, before receiving the gun I was searching for replacement grips but after today these grips are staying. They may not be the fanciest grips but they are very functional. Between the grips and the checkering this gun was very controllable. I thought it would be very snappy like other small 45s Iíve shot but it wasnít.
The gun comes with Fixed Slant Night Sight which I have on my Eclipse Pro II and I like them. The trigger was your typical Kimber trigger, no surprise there. Here are some of the features.

The Ultra TLE is basically the same gun as the Ultra Carry. The only difference is the frontstrap checkering and the night sights. I prefer to have these features in a 45.
This isnít the gun with fancy looks or features but itís going to be one hellava carry gun. It has most of the features you want in a carry gun, Iíll probably add a MSH with magwell in time. I like the Stainless finish, itís easy to clean and durable. I really have nothing bad to say about this gun. Iím looking forward the getting some more rounds through it and then some self-defense rounds. After that it will go into my carry rotation.
Hereís my first 7 shots at 7 yards.
