Anyone have a Tactical Custom II?

Hey guys. I have been lusting for a Tactical Custom II for quite some time. I was wandering if anyone on here has one or has had any experience with one? The only other Kimber that could possibly sway me is the Raptor. I held a Tactical the other day and for around $1300 I could have a 1911 with night sights, ambi safety (I'm left handed), and a Beveled magazine well. Any thoughts?

Get it. Nice gun. I'd own one if my quota wasn't full. I prefer the HD version.

Here's a HD version at a good price.

I think it's the most gun Kimber offers for the money, if you see Chickadee on the forum tonight ask her about her Ultra Tactical II. It's the 3" version of the gun you're looking at.

The various Custom IIs, are the same platform, i.e. Kimbers of differing color and of small parts. Always, quality at an excellent value.

I had one, it was a very good gun. Put almost 3000 rounds though it before I traded it, agree with chuck lots of upgrades for the money, good color combo. Also agree with gator, if I ever buy another I'd get the HD.

Yes, it is a nice pistol! As Chuck said, mine is an Ultra. I really wanted to like it - flawless out of the box, great features, nice looks, etc. I just had trouble handling the recoil of an aluminum frame chamberd in .45 ACP with my small hands, which made me less accurate with it. That's why it's for sale.

Chickadee, your Ultra would make a great pistol for DRock to purchase unless he is dead set on a full size!

I have two Tactical Custom HDs. Neither have been shot! I would not own an alloy framed 45 without a ramped bArrel personally. I have tried to sell one locally for 1150 with no luck. Agreed the tactical line offers the bells and whistles features at a good price.

Yeah I really want the full size version. It's amazing how accurate and far you can shoot with a 5inch 1911. I'm far better with a rifle but I could shoot a 1 liter coke bottle at 50 yards pretty easy with my last full size 1911. From what everyone says it looks like I need to go ahead and get the HD version...
