Stainless TLE II mag release

Hi, just picked up a tle 2 a couple of months ago and have noticed the magazine release is very hard to press. My wife and daughters have a very hard time depressing it and occasionally canít. I was hoping it would lighten up after use but it has not changed. I would prefer not to send it in for repair, so does anyone have a recommendation as to how to lighten it up? New spring? If so, any recommendations for a new spring?

I understand I donít want it too light, but this is bordering on ridiculous. I have read conflicting reports on what type of tool to use to remove the mag release, could someone please confirm whether or not it is a 1/16 Allen or torx? Thanks in advance.

Its allen wrench - may need a little polishing of the frame to get rid of some rough spots - easy fix!

No sir, hard to push no matter what. Seems more like a tight spring than a friction issue.

I have a stainless TLE I picked up a couple months ago. Mag release is not tight at all. I've only been running Kimpro Tac Mags through it, not sure if that would make a difference or not.

I’ve tried different mags, lubrication, slide open, slide closed and about every other possibility and configuration. Just seems like a tight spring which I will replace. Thanks for the suggestions.
