Not sure about...

Not so sure about the sights on my Stainless II. Fiber in front, good. Nothing on rear, not so good... what's the theory behind that??

That's actually my favorite setup. I like the contrast of the bright fiber optic front with an all black rear.

Personally I love that set up on my Stainless II. It is my everyday carry and my eyes immediately pick up on the red fiber optic against the flat black.

A plain black rear is my most used set up. I have guns with plain black rears, fiber optic fronts, a front night sight, front white dot, etc. For precision, I do best with black on black sights. FWIW, focus should be on the front sight, regardless of whether the rear is plain black, is fiber optic, has dots, bars, decorator colors, or whatever........

That's easy. Not everybody likes the same sights. Besides there is a billion dollar a year industry in aftermarket sights just waiting for you to customize your new gun to your liking. I have Trijicons on my Custom 11, and TruGlo TFOs on my Custom Stainless. The TFO's are the best of both worlds I believe. For me they are a lot easier to see. Nice bright green dots. Daylight or dark. It is kind of like grips. Not too many people leave the factory grips on there gun. I know mine were replaced in about a hour after I got the gun home. (really need to sell some of this stuff) MSH, safety. You get the picture.
