Ultra Carry II 9mm FTE

I've had my UC II for over a year now and maybe 2K rounds through it but since day one I've had FTE problems with it using my reloads that work in 'All' my other 9mm's. I've upped the load now and it works flawlessly but I'm .2grams from max load. All my other 9mm's work at about 1.5gr less loads. Before anyone asks, I know I'm not limp wristing because with the heavy load, I can even shoot one handed with no problems and even before that, I thought about that and had a death grip on it. I'm thinking either the recoil spring is too heavy or maybe the ejector might need working on. They are not catching on the ejector, the cases are just stove piping when using the lighter loads. I know I could just load for the Kimber what it wants but it would be nice to be able to load working loads that work in 'All' my 9mm's without using an almost max load. I've tried looking for a lighter spring but can't find any for the Ultra Carry II 3". Is there anyone out there making them?

No doubt too light of a load for that gun. You are right, it's not cycling completely.

Lighter recoil spring or heavier load.

I would love to go with a lighter spring but I can't find any

I doubt if you'll find a lighter recoil spring then the stock factory assembly. If you really want a lighter assembly you could try breaking it down and shortening the stock springs but breaking it down and reassembling it is not an easy task.

Thought about that but yes, it looks like a challenge. I just may have to load heavy and live with it.

Have you tried adding a little more extractor tension?

I would have to read up on how to do that. Didn't know you could.
