Kimber gold match

I have a kimber gold match not a gold match 2 at least that is what is on the frame. Serial no.k080087. Everything I read here is about the gold match 2. Are both the same? This is my first kimber and trying to learn much as I can with this feeble old 75 yr old mind

The difference between the Gold Match and Gold Match II is that the II has a firing pin safety like all Kimbers with II after their name.

FYI I'm also 75.

Post some pics of yours. If you call Kimber customer service and give them the serial number they should be able to tell you when your Gold Match was born.

Is your Gold Match Blued? Found this on GunBroker.
