Shopping again....

It should surprise none of you that I'm shopping again. I have: my Kimber Classic Stainless as a full-size (mostly safe queen); my new Ruger Lightweight Commander 45 that I carrying the winter months; my Micro 9 two-tone that is my "tight clothes carry"; and lots of other pistols....I'm not flush with cash....

But, as we've all said, "I'm getting a hankering" for an Ultra or Officer sized 45 that isn't overly heavy and could replace the Micro 9, which I love, but am not "in love with". The Micro 9 may go if I find the right 3" real 1911 45 (I like big holes when I shoot).

Talk to me Kimber/1911 gurus!

Harold

Ultra CDP, Ultra RCP, Ultra Stainless Raptor, Super Carry Ultra+,...all awesome, I have all four. Either one would serve you well.
SIS Ultra is way cool but been out of production at least 10 years so might be difficult to locate.

If I could have only 1 of the above I would probably have to pick the Super Carry Ultra+.

You can't go wrong with any Ultra .45 that Kimber makes. My EDC is an Ultra Tactical, my back up is an Ultra CDP, etc, etc.

I keep thinking I need to start checking Gunbroker for another Ultra Tactical, IMHO, the best carry gun Kimber ever made.

Ultra Stainless Raptor!! Doesn't really get any better. But that's just my opinion.

Iím in love with the Ultra platform. Iím looking at carrying only and get to the range about once a month so donít need a 4/5 inch gun.

I have the Ultra TLE II SS 45 that a bought last year. The price was great, it had great features and as far as shooting, I can’t believe how good I can shoot with this 3” 1911. Pick the one you like because they all shoot the same. I personally like night sights and frontstrap checkering on my Carry 45.

Bigdog: Any Kimber Ultra model will shoot better than you are most likely capable of, at least mine are.

I carry one of my two Ultra CDP's daily, one in .45 the other in 9mm. Both have Kimber night sights and Kimber ultra thin micarta grips for CC.

As has already been mentioned, it is unbelievable just how accurate these 3" pistols really are. Pick the one with features you favor, as you can't go wrong with any of them.

My two Ultra's:

Carried in a Milt Sparks VM2, the Ultra's can be covered with a t-shirt if worn IWB.

After the dust settles, let us know what you end up with.
