which 1911 and why

thinking of getting another 1911 but i am not sure which one between these 2 .

Kimber Stainless Raptor II , 9mm , 3 inch barrel
or
Colt Elite Combat Defender , 9mm , 3 inch barrel

I really like both but not sure which one to get. I know this is a kimber forum and ive owned kimbers before and love them.

Can’t go wrong with either one. Although I’m partial to Kimber. Particularly the Ultra models

I’d go with the Raptor because the cost is almost the same and I like frontstrap checkering and night sights on my carry gun. I like the look of both but I like the Raptor better and you get more for your money with the Raptor.

The colt is ok but kind of bland compared to the Raptor in my opinion. I have a colt that is very similar and if I had to chose between the two my vote would be for the raptor

the combat elite defender also has night sights and frontstrap checkering. Just don’t know too much about this match grade ramped bushingless bull barrel that I’m hearing kimber has or if the colt has it . Is that hype or is it something nice to have ?

I am a Colt guy, but the problem that I have had with most of the Defenders that I have seen and shot is with the way the sights are regulated. The front sight height hasn't worked for the way I shoot. So I would recommend that you find a way to put a couple of rounds through both types of guns before you choose.
