Question Wilson 9rnd 9mm compact mags?

Happy 2019 everyone! This is my 1st thread after my introduction. I'll be receiving my 1st 1911 this week, Kimber Aegis Ultra II 9MM. I plan on ordering some mags from Joe's that Chuck43 mentioned but before I read about them I ordered 3 Wilson Combat 9 round 9mm compacts with a base plate (#5009C9). Should These work alright in my Aegis Ultra?

One last question. I have a 1000 rounds of Winchester 9mm Nato 124gr ball ammo on hand. Will this be OK for break in or is it too hot. Thanks for any comments or opinions. I appreciate all responses.

Heya! I got the same pistol a few weeks ago. I started with 50 -147g Winchester, then 100- 124gr, then 50 -119. It ate every round without a hitch. I relubed after 100 rounds like Kimber wanted and it ran great. I love this pistol. It is now my favorite, even over my Dan Wesson. I ordered some Cooks Kydex, because it is a great carry gun. It just fits to the body, and Iím skinny 5í10Ē, and itís pretty light.
In 9mm it shoots like a dream, and easy to get back on target. Iím going to keep the fiber optic sights. The grip feels like it was molded for my hand and everyone that holds it so far says the same. Now my wife wants one. She picked it up.. ďooh yea.. 9mm?.. ooooh yea!Ē I have a few guns I wanted to sell.. guess what Iíll be buying. Not sure what Ultra flavor she wants. Aegis, Raptor, or CDP... anyhoo my feeling with breaking in a tight fitting gun or any gun is properly detail strip and oil the gun. If something is off itís off and needs to be sent back. Otherwise if you do things right it should function. Saying this rack the slide to reload a mag, donít use the slide stop. It will jam and require a bump until after 100 rounds or so. Enjoy the new pistol and please post pics! Hereís 200 rounds of dumping mags, plus a few 45 rounds from trying my dads CZs.

Aqualungs,

Thank you for responding and great shooting. Are you just using the original mag? Those 9rnd Wilson compact mags were on sale for $31 and I hope they function. I like having an extra round plus I like the added length of the pad.

If I like this 1911 I'll sell some other guns also and probably get a Pro Raptor in 45. Thanks again,

Oh the mags, they should work ok. I used the Kimber mag for breakin. I use Wilson mags for my Dan Wesson, and this time around I bought Chip McCormicks for the Kimber. Iíll let you know how they do.

The WC magazines will work, I have a lot of Joe's mags, some Kim Pro Tac mags, I keep all the original magazines with each pistol and use them, they work fine for me, never had a problem. Also have a few WC and Chip McCormick mags. My 40 year old no name magazines that have been in service since I bought the Colt Series 70 Government function fine even in the Kimbers.
