Master Carry Pro

I have one heading for my LGS this week. Am pretty excited it's been a while since I've bought a new piece. 1911 is by far and wide my favorite platform. With my eyes getting weaker the Crimson Trace should be helpful. Do any of you have this model and if so what are your thoughts. Thanks in advance.

I have a MCP, very fine pistol, mine has been trouble free. Up until I bought the Gold Combat LE the Master Carry Pro was one of the most accurate pistols I own. It can serve any purpose you need conceal carry, home defense, range.

To bad you didn't buy the Master Carry Pro member Deputy347k9 has for sale on this site.

I didn't join here until the purchase had been made. I wish him well on his sale, life takes twists and turns. None of us are exempt.

It finally came in today, a little behind the expected date but worth waiting for.
The store owner got a kick out me field stripping, cleaning and oiling along with changing the recoil spring with the WC flat spring kit while waiting for the background check, the beauty of a small local store and a long time relationship. The trigger is nice as expected and the laser is awesome (my very first one). Will update after I'm able to get it out and see what she does, I like feeling like a kid sometimes, lol.

Got to the range. 132 rounds of 230grn round nose 0 malfunctions of any sort. Magazines were the one that came with it and (4) WC 47d 8 count. Fiddled around with the laser some and got it zeroed for 7 yards. It had been a while for me so the accuracy results we not stellar certainly not the pistols fault. Had forgotten how much I enjoy shooting handguns, will try to get on a regular schedule and get back up to snuff. Dry firing can only get you so far.

Got a call from my gunsmith and the new Kimber is ready to pick up. I had him polish and tune the trigger / sear / hammer. I'm good at what I do for a living and my smith is good at what he does. Anything beyond simple field strip and clean it goes to the shop. He said it turned out really well, right at 4lbs. 15 thousands take-up zero over travel. Am looking forward to my next range session.

Back to the range 133 rounds with one fail to feed at around 120+, the pistol was very dirty by then. Trigger is sweet! Closed my groups, quickened my cadence, all around a very satisfying outing. Due to funky cataract surgery I had to change from my right eye to my left. Hadn't shot for a few years and man is it ever fun. A bit like riding a bike, once you know the fundamentals it's easy to pick right back up. 230 grain round nose 21 feet, worked as a patrolman in my 20's (it was revolvers only in our department) I can't ever remember shooting anything but 7 yards, lol.

Maybe next time. I shoot at the NRA range in Fairfax, VA. A class of beginners was getting started as I was finishing up. It put a smile on my face when the instructor cautioned them "you're not going to be able to shoot that fast so don't try". My idea of accuracy involves getting lead down range pronto which can produce some pretty cool strings. Instead of crumpling and tossing the targets I'll plan on saving my best one for a picture.

Dude. Keep us up to date. The MCP may be one of my next purchases.
