Cheap 1911 Magazines

I heard Kimber is very fussy about magazines. I bought a bag of Sarco 1911 7 round magazines for $5.95 each and they work just fine on my Custom II.

Magazines are the main cause of malfunctions in a 1911. They'd be ok for the range.

I have 4 Kimbers and the only bad magazine was the 38 super mag that came with my Eclipse Target. I mainly use McCormick shooting stars (45acp) in 8 &10 round that I’ve used for thirty years and never had a problem. I also have some no name and GI issue and never had a problem. I used these for years in IPSC competitions and dropped them in the dirt and on the concrete and no problems.

I use the Kimpro and Wilson Combat mags for all my carry use. Range use is a hodge podge of the cheapest I can acquire for a decent price. Been lucky so far. Only had 1 that gave me a little trouble out of a dozen or so 9mm and 45 mags.

I've got over 40 magazines, the majority are KimPro Tac-Mags the rest are from Joes1911Magmania. I've never had a problem with any of then that a good cleaning or simple adjustment couldn't clear.

Bought a dozen GI mags still in their original wrappings from the CMP store and they all functioned perfectly. Ran about 6.00 each but were only 7 rounders. I like cheap functional things!

Kimber, Wilson, Chip McCormick, Colt... and probably other magazines in my Box O' Mags. The only problems I've ever had are when a magazine is visibly bent up, worn out after decades of service, or on a gun that needs work.
