Kimpro Tac-Mag won't feed

I impulse purchased a used Pro TLE II this past weekend that came with (only) 2 Kimpro Tac-Mags. What can I say, gun shows are dangerous and the price was really right. I've already ordered Wilson Combat mags for it... but I'm itching to shoot the gun and the 7 round Tac-Mags won't feed. At all. One of them is missing the base pad, but neither of them really lock into the gun either. They'll sit in it without falling out but I can pull them out without hitting the mag release. I've never used Kimpro mags before but there's no way this is acceptable. Has anyone else run into this problem? I'm waiting on my Wilson's & hoping this is only a mag issue... 😬

Sorry, I've never had a problem with KimPro Tac mags or original factory mags for that matter. Maybe Wilson mags will help.

I have over 2 dozen KimPro Tac-Mags and they've been flawless from day one. You bought a used gun and magazines, that could be the reason it was offered at a great price.

I feel the same way. I only had one Tac-Nag that failed to feed, the feed lips were splayed, and Kimber told Gander Mountain to replace the bad magazine for free.

Now, I must admit, I have more Wilson-Rogers magazines than Tac-Mags. I was new to Kimber during that period of acquisition, and I was more familiar with a brand name I knew.

As you guys know, I have the original blue magazine that came with the pistol--it looks like it has recently been to a demolition derby.

But it has never failed to work...

Sounds like they're out of spec? The missing parts suggest someone who DIDN'T know what they were doing messed them up. I'd toss them rather than spend time trying to get them working.

I don't think it's the magazines at all. Sounds more like an issue with the magazine catch on the weapon itself. Not uncommon and an easy fix for Kimber or a gunsmith.

Stupid question, and no offense intended.

The TLE Pro has an extended magwell; are you sure the mag is seated completely? Also, my weapons with an extended magwell will not feed the first round if the slide is in battery when I load the mag. I don't consider this a problem.

Again, no offense intended.

Update: Wilson's came in today. They work flawlessly. Seat properly. Cycle like they should. Shoots every time. They are 8 rounders. I think someone dumped a couple of inappropriate mags with the gun. Could definitely be an issue of the extended mag well but I'm just happy I got something that works! Thanks for the input, everyone. I appreciate the opportunity to learn as much as I'm able.

That's good to hear, and I re-read your original post, I had missed where you said they were 7 rounders. I think you may be right, someone dumped the wrong mags with the gun. Almost all the 7 round Kim Pro mags are for the compact models. Most of the Kim Pro mags for the full size grips guns are 8 rounders. I bet you were given compact (officer or Ultra) size mags.
