What mag comes factory with a new Kimber?

Just bought a new Stainless Raptor II a few days ago and it came with a Chip McCormick mag. Is this standard?

My Kimber came with a beat up, blue magazine without a commercial stamp.

I bought Wilson-Rogers magazines with bumper pads.

That's what I thought would come with this so I proactively ordered two Wilson Combat mags. Just curious to see if the more pricey Kimber models come with an aftermarket mag straight from the factory?

Mine is a three-inch model that comes with a Crimson Trace. I left mine "box stock" because I view it as a defensive device not a target pistol.

BTW, that beat up blue magazine is till around here somewhere. It always works.

I believe we just discussed this a couple of weeks ago with another member. Kimber ships their guns with magazines stamped with their name "Kimber" on them. Kimber buys magazines from magazine manufactures and they probably got a batch with the manufactures name on them instead of Kimbers.

Thanks! I was expecting to see the name Kimber on the mag until I found a lightly engraved Chip McCormick on it. Thanks for confirming that yes, they will sometimes ship their pistols with 3rd party mags.

My bad. I keep forgetting that my "Kimber" has the initials "GM" inside the serial number. This means that my pistol was built to the parameters of Gander Mountain.

It follows that I have a plain blue, non-stamped magazine. They wanted to hawk GM products, not anything stamped 'Kimber.'

While I'm sure they change from time to time, Kimber started off with Chip McCormick as an advisor in 1995 and in the pre-II years used his exclusively.

All of my Kimbers came with C. Mc C. Mags, some say Kimber on the magazine but they all have the Shooting Star engraved on the follower.

All are drilled and tapped for the C. Mc C. base plate as well.
