Hmmm...?

Had the TLE Ultra II out for the first time in awhile last weekend. It was working fine until all of a sudden I began having the odd fail to feed issues. After some experimentation, I seemed to have narrowed it down to one magazine, a Chip McCormick Shooting Star 7 rd. It seemed to be worse on the last round as well. The only difference between that magazine on my others is the follower seemed to be 1-2 mm wider between the bottom & top. I'm surprised that this would cause an issue.

Any thoughts on causes and how I might fix it? I haven't abused the magazine and really hadn't use it in a few months. I did not see any bending at the lips.

I took the spring & follower out, cleaned it and tried closing the gap on the follower a bit to see if that helps.

Please don't go off on a "CMC are crap. You should buy XXXX brand magazines" tangent. I am not interested in brand war bovine fecal matter.

Are you on the original Kimber recoil spring? How many rounds on it? How long have you had it? I take it this magazine worked before.

Yes it is the original spring, but I don't think it's the issue as I don't have that many rounds through the pistol and other mags run okay. Never had a problem with the mag before. I'll keep an eye on it though. Thanks for the suggestion.

I applaud you for saying that, people are too quick to condemn an entire line for a problem with a single item.

And Chuck, I would agree with you 95% of the way.

Look at the debate about the early Solo line. Yet the little Kimber I carry works every time. Even a great product line has some issues.

I think the real problem is "tone." You can have some real concerns which wind up driving you to another product. You can still be polite.

For example, I do not carry the full line of Blue Ridge products, although I do admire their customer service.
