Kimber Custom Defender II

Found this at the local gun show in Raleigh. Appears to be in good shape, very slightly used, my guess is no more than 50 rds. Steel frame. .45 ACP.

Will contact Kimber to determine the mfg. date; I haven't seen this model offered for several years.

Anyone have info. as to when this model was offered?

Congratulations Dave. That’s a fine looking 1911. Let us know what Kimber says, I personally have never seen this model. Very close to a CDP.

I did a search and apparently they were made in 2001 and only 290 of them were made.

Nice score Dave, I'm again kicking myself for not having backed up my hard drive. Among all the Kimber information I had was the history of all the handguns Kimber made.

Interesting. I have 2002 Special Edition Pro Tactical II (not Tactical<->Pro) with a serial number 287. Wonder if there were only 290 made of those too?

That is sweet, great pick up! I've never seen one of those either. It does remind me a bit of the CDP in appearance as well, although I see it doesn't have the same features.

Was this one of Kimber's first forays into two tones?

I've never seen that model either, and "wow", what a great score for you! That baby will only increase in value considering the very low production figures.

Great looking 1911, I can almost feel your grin from here.

I would definitely call Kimber for any information they can give you. It would have to add value to the gun.
