Daggone...took her back to the range...firing Aquilla and Winny White Box, using variety of Kimber, Wilson Combat and Colt magazines...after firing about 70 rounds slow fire, she pulled the same stunt as before...refused to hold the magazine. I ceased fire, came home cleaned her up and presto, she'll hold mags again....but twice in one month...talked with Dawn at Kimber customer service...very helpful, about an hour after she emailed my RMA # and UPS instructions...I had it boxed up and UPS just picked it up, enroute back to the factory. I suspect what y'all have indicated will hit the spot, but also am curious regarding the technical links...is a Kimber custom shop fit too finely, cuz this certainly is not what I expect during break in period (less than 200 rounds...all slow fire, variety of mags and variety of factory ammo). We'll see. Anxious to see what factor techs advise and looking forward to reengaging again soon. OK, can't help myself, neither of my Glock G4's pulled this stunt.

Dawn is a saint! I asked her for some info on my first Kimber, a 1999 Classic Stainless and she answered me in 5 minutes. Perfect customer service!

I’d be pretty sure you’ll get quick turnaround and a solution.

I'm sure they'll get her dialed in for you. More likely than not they'll just replace the magazine release and spring. They'll make it right.

Uh, oh. You didn't polish the feed ramp with Flitz, did you? Or go full-Bubba and wipe the slide vigorously with a terrycloth rag? If so, the warranty experts would never be able to fix your magazine catch!

Received it back via FEDEX this morning....here is what Dawn advised me:

Your pistol has been inspected and evaluated for the concerns reported. We performed the following work:
Magazine Catch Spring Replaced

It was test fired with the following ammo after repair:
3 MAGS OF BUFFALO CARTRIDGE CO. 230 GR FMJ
1 MAG OF FEDERAL HYDRA SHOK 230 gr JHP 45 ACP

Passed QC inspection

COMPLIMENTARY:
Extractor Adjusted
Ejector & Recoil Spring Replaced
Barrel Refinished, Chamber Reamed & Polished

Took it apart and examined all upon return from factory....no, that didn’t comp me a new mag or anything....will take it back to Lafayette Gun Club for proof of principle! Very fast turnaround...and great support from Dawn and team!
