Anyone have this issue/recommended solution

Took my Kimber super carry pro to the range. After about 70 rounds of 230g and 1/2 hour, it quit holding magazines! Wilson combat, Kimber, generic. Didn’t matter. Have not encountered in my Colt constantly commander! Any recommendations? Firearm is only 5 months old less than 300 rounds fired!

A booger that prevents the magazine from being stuffed in all the way?

Did you try it with an empty magazine?

Is the release stuck? Maybe a bad release spring if it doesn't go back to normal.

Since it's doing with multiple mags we'll assume it's not a mag issue. My "go to" first would be to hose it out with Gun Scrubber … just in case you don't know … Scrubber is gun cleaner spray that's pretty high pressure. It get's into the hard to reach places. I'd then follow with compressed air. I just use the "camera duster" type cans … they're great. Then, of course lube it up real well. If all that doesn't help, you probably have a spring issue as others have said. See Kimber or your local gunsmith ….it's an easy fix.

If it’s the release button, won’t that be covered under warranty?

I would guess the magazine catch spring is defective or incorrectly installed. Yes should be a warranty issue without question.

I am starting to wonder if Kimber even test fires these things? How does something like dropping magazines, or a 10mm with an extractor so tight it won't feed at all even get through?

Your entire gun is covered by the warranty, you can easily remove the mag release to check it out. It just requires you to turn the screw head about a 1/4 turn counter clockwise and it will come out.

Got it home and cleaned her out real well...shazam, mags hold now. Maybe just a glitch...but I'll daggone sure watch out to see if it should happen again...kudos to all for your comments/recommendations!

OTOH, I've not encountered anything like this with my other family members....Glocks, Colts, Beretta, Walther, CZ...or even my Luger!
