First Kimber First Post

So I had been watching a few guns on Armslist for a while and finally drove over to the LGS (that was 95 miles away) to have a look. I have been looking for a replacement for my M&P340 because it's just too painful to train with and, although highly concealable and reliable, not as accurate as I would like. So I picked up this used stainless steel Ultra Carry II. I took it to the range immediately and put 100 rounds of WWB hardball through it without a hiccup. I gotta say, I'm loving it. I was amazed by how accurate it was. It may be more accurate than my 3" 686. Such a great trigger. I thought this would be just for "deeper" concealment but this is probably going to end up being my EDC gun. I bought a Glock 19x the same day thjinking it would be my new EDC gun but I don't know now. The Kimber shot better than the 19x despite the fact that the 19x has a 4" barrel. It's that SA trigger. It's way easier to be accurate with it. plus it's just about as concealable as that M&P.

Congratulations. I have the same Kimber. I love it. I couldn't see from the photographs, does yours have black sights? I see you have a Crimson Trace on it. Very nice.

Welcome to the Forum from Florida. You’re going to love the Kimber, the Ultra platform has to be the best Concealed carry/ defensive gun made. IMHO.

yeah, it has the standard black sights which seemed to work well enough but I will be replacing them with night sights regardless. I'm thinking the meprolight 11212 sights. The only change I would consider besides that might be a green laser at some point.

I went with the Tru Glow TFX PRO. Combination of day and night sights with the big orange front sight. Can acquire that front sight fast.

That's something to think about. I haven't completely made up my mind yet.
