Why one size of night sights fits all ?

The sights of my more-than-10 year old Ultra cdp 2 is fading. I am looking for a new set.

The Meprolight ML11212 claims it fits all from full size Kimber to Ultra models. Is this true?

I think different barrel lengths need different heights of the front sight (if the rear sight is a fix set)

All Kimber 1911s, Custom, Pro and Ultra use the same cut. This is from the Kimber web store.

...unless they're a target sight model, or have had them fitted. Ask me how I know. No, don't.

Is it possible that the depth of groove at the front end of a slide, where the front sight is attached varies to the length of the slide of the model ?
For example, using same height of the front sight, Kimber cut a deeper groove of a Raptor 2 than an Ultra 2 ? So the bullet from the 2 pistol hit the same point of aim.

I guess if you're in Thailand sending it back to Kimber wouldn't be an option? If you can pull it off it may be worth the aggravation. We've had several mentions over the years of Kimber replacing old dead sights at no charge.

length of the slide makes no difference.

learn how to aim and you won't need sights
