Classic Stainless LE

I recently traded for a Kimber Classic Stainless LE. It is in very good condition. I have searched and found no information about this pistol. If anyone has information about this model or knows where I might find more information I would appreciate the help.

WM2602, welcome to the site from Tennessee. Is the "LE" stand for Limited Edition? Some detailed pics would be helpful if you have some. Chuck is going to welcome you and ask you to visit the New Member topic and introduce yourself.

Does it have an adjustable rear sight? If it does it's a Classic Stainless Target LE.

Welcome to the forum WM2602, some pictures would certainly help. In the past Kimber made a number of special editions/run all it took was an order for 50 guns and it was yours. I recently had a hard drive go belly up and I lost years of Kimber history that I had collected and no, stupid me didn't have it backed up.

With that said how about stopping by our "New Member Introduction" sub forum and introducing yourself to the membership.

Thanks for responding. It is a 5" model. It is a series 70. It has fixed, blacked out sights. I too believe the LE stands for limited edition

The grips are not the original factory nor are the screws. I believe the gun was a run of about 600 for Gander Mountain 1997/98ish,

Yes, we knew it was a full size, 5 inch barrel due to the "Classic" designation. Should have plain black rubber grips.
Classic Stainless LE was sold thru Gander Mountain as a Limited Edition in 1998. The serial number does not appear special. It may be rare but not collectable.

A call to Customer Service may or may not have a record of born on date. Kimber don't reveal production numbers and did not do a good job of record keeping.

I have one just like it. This was my first Kimber purchase. This is how it came straight out of the box.
