What would your "ultimate" Kimber look like?

If you could build your own Kimber, what would it look like?

I'll start and while it might not be practical, I guarantee that no-one else at my club would have one.

Size: full
Calibre: 45ACP (the only choice for my dream gun)
Barrel: 5 inches, black
Bushing: of course (it's not a 1911 without one ) highly polished silver
Guide rod: mil spec
Guide rod plug: black
Slide material: steel
Slide finish: highly polished silver
Slide serrations: front and back, black low points
Frame material: steel
Frame finish: highly polished silver
Frame type: round butt
Sights: Tactical wedge tritium night sights, 3 dot
Rail: yes
Trigger: solid, black (like on the Ultra RCP II)
Front strap checkering: yes
MSH: black
Magwell: yes, black
Grip safety: black
Slide stop: black
Mag release: black
Grips: Smooth and stipple, Kimber logo, black and silver with CT (even though as a lefty they would be useless)
Grip screws: VZ Radiation II black wash
Roll markings: standard Kimber font but black
Pins (hammer, MSH etc): black
Engraving: the Australian National Flag behind the front slide serrations on the left side and the Australian Army Rising Sun behind the slide serrations on the right side with room for the enlistment dates of my sons, black

I think that's about it, the most important thing to me would be the engravings on the slide and I wouldn't see it getting a lot use, probably more of a sentimental piece than anything else.

Who wants to play along?

Well coolbreeze you poo-pood the one Kimber I own. The CDP II Pro has no barrel bushing, but it does have a bull barrel which I think is a nice addition. Not having the barrel bushing makes it that much faster to take down and fieldstrip I would think, maybe not I have seen videos when they strip them pretty fast. When did a true 1911 have a rail that just came about recently I thought. I do plan on buying another Kimber and it will have the bushing I believe but probably no rail. I also like the skeleton style trigger. Personally I never have liked the solid trigger on any 1911. Maybe skeletonized black one might look pretty good. Well I will post my full design up later I gotta call it a night. Goodnight and Godbless

I didn't mean to do that to you Tom, sorry bud.
I like the look of a 1911 with a barrel bushing. As for the rail, well I think the Kimber rails look cool with the way that they are cut on the dust cover.

My favorite Kimber line is the Super Carry family. I'd like to have one of each size in HD version, all black, with roll marks and some patriotic engravings of gold inlay. Something tastefully eye-catching, not Saturday night gaudy.

Kimber already makes my ultimate gun, it's the Classic Carry Pro with the Turnbull charcoal blue finish. I'd make two changes to the gun, first I'd replace the rear sight with one from the Super Carry line with a cocking shoulder and the bone grips would be replaced with elephant ivory.

I had to agree with him. I have already paid 400 bucks on layaway for that gun. Can't wait to get it bonded out of jail.

This is kinda like your wife telling you that you can bring home 2 or 3 more women, and you bring back her twins.. Well....... After I said that, I no longer see a problem, carry on.
