If you could build your own Kimber, what would it look like?
I'll start and while it might not be practical, I guarantee that no-one else at my club would have one.
Calibre: 45ACP (the only choice for my dream gun)
Barrel: 5 inches, black
Bushing: of course (it's not a 1911 without one
) highly polished silver
Guide rod: mil spec
Guide rod plug: black
Slide material: steel
Slide finish: highly polished silver
Slide serrations: front and back, black low points
Frame material: steel
Frame finish: highly polished silver
Frame type: round butt
Sights: Tactical wedge tritium night sights, 3 dot
Trigger: solid, black (like on the Ultra RCP II)
Front strap checkering: yes
Magwell: yes, black
Grip safety: black
Slide stop: black
Mag release: black
Grips: Smooth and stipple, Kimber logo, black and silver with CT (even though as a lefty they would be useless)
Grip screws: VZ Radiation II black wash
Roll markings: standard Kimber font but black
Pins (hammer, MSH etc): black
Engraving: the Australian National Flag behind the front slide serrations on the left side and the Australian Army Rising Sun behind the slide serrations on the right side with room for the enlistment dates of my sons, black
I think that's about it, the most important thing to me would be the engravings on the slide and I wouldn't see it getting a lot use, probably more of a sentimental piece than anything else.
Who wants to play along?
