Unhappy Pro Carry Is AWOL!!

I was just looking at the Kimber website and noticed that the Pro Carry II is no longer cataloged. There is a Two-Tone Pro carry II and a Stainless Pro Carry HD II, but no just plain blued/black model? What gives Kimber?? Is my beloved Pro Carry II going to become an unwanted red headed step-child??

I never quit understood why popular guns are discontinued by the manufacturers. Many of them do this. Sig does it all the time. I have a P226 Elite Dark and it's no longer available. It took so long to acquire this gun because nobody had it in stock. I finally found one and purchased it and now it's discontinued. I just don't get it.

It does seem a bit strange. I noticed they were changing the Pro Carry's and I think it was the TLE line that was also changing.

Bummer. New Balance does the same with their shoes and so I've started buying several pairs at a time. Maybe should do the same with the guns?!

With somewhere around 100 different guns in production and new products being offered they probably look at what was the least popular (sales-wise) for the year. I would imagine that we're going to be seeing more models offered in 9mm as the popularity of that round is growing.

I have the Pro Carry HD II Stainless and it seems this model would be one of the unpopular models because the darn thing is heavy as heck-but I still like it.It always appeared that the standard Pro Carry II was more popular due to the alloy frame.

I just picked up one today, chambered in 9mm, all black, including black "rubber" grips.

I'll start another thread on it.
