New custom ll

I recently picked up a new custom 11 two tone. I really like the feel of the gun and can't wait to get it to the range. I've owned Kimbers
before in the Aegis 9mm and the Procarry 45. I never did any gunsmithing to either of those, but would like to know what you guys do as far as upgrading the internals on the Custom 11 to make it operate more smoothly? Any spring upgrades etc.? I've already changed the sights to a set of Tru Glo's but looking to do more. Thanks

Gutterman, welcome to the site from Tennessee! I think you will find a very small percentage of Kimber owners on this site that have changed anything internal on there pistols. I don't think it is needed, I have not changed mine. I just shoot them to make them smoother.
There may have been some different springs used and some have changed triggers but I don't know about anything else.
I am sure others will respond.

Welcome from Northeast, Pa. Gutterman. I have an Eclipse Pro II and a SS Raptor 5". The only change I made was using a Wolff improved recoil spring on the Eclipse. I love the sights on both and if they need to be replaced, the same ones are going in. Great trigger, no problem there. I don't even think about any upgrades. I just think about the next one I want to buy.

Welcome to the forum from the Lou...

Go out and shoot that gun and leave the naysayers on the curb....Kimber is an awesome brand and there will always be haters in anything that you buy...

Good luck and check back later to let us know how you like it..

I have my fair share of Kimbers, one with over 20,000 rounds through it and I've never found a reason to upgrade any internals. As for springs, I've upgraded my Pro size guns to WC flat wire springs when the factory springs reached the end of their recommended life. The secrete to a smoother operating action is to shoot the gun, the more you shoot it the better it gets.

Almost forgot, I did change out the slide stop on my primary carry gun. I replaced it with a Wilson Combat Extended Slide Stop. The reason for that is an issue I have with arthritis in my right thumb. The extended slide stop makes it less painful for me to release the slide after doing a magazine change.

Thank you all for your responses. I think I'll just shoot the snot out of it as recommended and see if that does the trick. Thanks again!
