Kimber Compact CDP II

My wife got me a Compact CDP II for Christmas. (I am one very lucky hubs!) I've always wanted a CDP and the Compact II is perfect.

Got some Kimber Tac mags and really like them even if everyone says to get Wilson mags. I got to head to the range and went through 250+ rounds of FMJ from blazer, monarch and winchester on 2 different trips. Having heard "some" horror stories about mis-feeds and being new to .45 in general I wasn't sure what to expect. From round 1 to the last the Compact has performed like a dream. Having shot 9m for years I figured I'd have to get used to some kick but NO. The CDP is extremely smooth and follow up shots were a breeze. Muzzle jump was minimal and the balance was exceptional. The CDP has already exceeded my expectations and those were very high to begin with.

No feed issues and I can hit what I aim at (most of the time). I have a tendency to be low and left on my first shot of the day.

Anyway, this fine gun is everything I thought it'd be and more! And for those who think this is too expensive, to me it's not. (I did actually fund it )

Cheers Rick

Welcome to the forum from Ohio!! Glad you are enjoying your new CDP. I've got a bunch of Pro Tac magazines as do others here. I think they work great.

Thanks for the welcome!

I meant to add that I did have an issue with the set screws on the grips. They worked loose each time. I was reading some other threads and found one where the solution was to use some o-rings. I got some and am waiting for my next range trip to see if they work well. I really hate using any kind of "glue".

Cheers Rick (am from Arkansas so Go Hogs!)

NO GLUE.....Believe me when I say that.....

Use the #60 O-Rings from Home Depot...

DANCO #60 O-Ring (10-Pack)-96774 - The Home Depot

PS...This is what happens when someone {who I won't name} uses crazy glue ...

Welcome from Northern Illinois. We keep telling 9mm shooters about the horrendous 45 kick, so there is more ammo for us. If everyone knew how easy it was to shoot 45 we would have another ammo shortage.
