Kimber Pro Carry 2

I realize I'm in the Kimber forum ya'll may be biased but you are fair.Like most here I have quite a few guns.Love shooting & can pertty much carry what I want! I like J frames but can't shoot them with any accuracy! I keep going back to my Kimber pro carry 2!Have any of ya'll done the same.....you wind up carrying the Kimber for EDC! I have to admit I've been tempter to get a 9MM Shield.Does it ever end....there seems to always be a new gun.I bought & carried a Glock 30s for edc for a month....nice gun but I'm back with my KIMBER!! ....HELP?

I'm in the same boat. I keep strapping on my UC2.

I have the same issue with the J-frame. I have a SW 360PD in .357 and wonder about the same controllability issues.

My revolver has Hi-Viz sights, and I think that's the key. Even a mortar has a short barrel but hits the target. I believe better sights enhance the J-frame.

I have a safe full of guns that I love shooting but I'm very particular about what I carry. While I'll change carry guns I won't change the type of gun. I stick with 1911's, the action, safety, mag release and reloading process never changes, nothing to rethink. Even my BUG's follow these lines (they just lack the grip safety). Because of an occasional problem I have with arthritis in my right thumb every one of my carry 1911's have an extended slide stop.

If you just want 9mm, why not a Kimber 9mm picked this one up used right before Christmas. Stainless Ultra Carry.

Wink Been There/Done That!!

If you are like me and are blessed with huge hands, a J frame Smith is not the EDC for you. I can almost lose one of those 5 shooters in my palm. If you put a big enough grip on it to shot it well, you have lost it's concealability. If you leave the original grips, you can't shoot the damn thing. You are danged if you do and danged if you don't!!

THAT IS WHY YOU KEEP GOING BACK TO THE PC2!! Cause it fits and it works. 'Nuff said!!! Don't rack your brain. Just carry the PC2!!

James surrender to the fact that it never ends. With the endless choice of firearms there is always something new or new to you that you will want. If there was an end to that, what would we talk about.

Always carry a gun you shoot regularly and trust. It's not all about a specific brand. Carry whatever makes you feel safe.

James, I dumped two J Frames because they were harsh to shoot, inaccurate beyond 5 yards, and only 5 shots. Sounds like a losing combination if you get into a gun fight. From there I went to Glocks in .40 cal. Still have them and carry one when I know I'm going somewhere that might get my gun dirty or scratched. But once I discovered the Kimber 1911 there was no turning back. My favorite EDC is the Kimber Super Carry Ultra HD, but lately I've put my Stainless Raptor Pro II into the rotation. IMO, there is nothing like a 1911 and Kimbers are at the value point (price/quality) that I am comfortable with.

(BTW, my wish list does have a G30S on it)

Chuck 43, I have an issue as I am right handed and have arthritis in my trigger finger and forefinger. As I get older I find it hard to work the slide. any suggestions on how to make it easier?

I am right handed, I hold my gun in my right hand and rack the slide with my left so I'm trying to understand how arthritis in two fingers on your right hand is making racking the slide difficult. In any case there is a tool that you can get to assist in racking your slide it's called the "Handi-Racker".
