I use the Disantis Nemesis holsters for pocket carry and I have Talon holsters for in the waistband appendix carry. Also have a Blackhawk retention for OWB of my large 45s

After going through a half a dozen different holsters I finally figured out that you can't beat a quality hand made holster. Today I have and use 3 Wright Leather Works holsters, you get what you pay for.

I also prefer leather and if possible suede lined and stiff so you can draw and reholster with one hand. But, like Chuck said you get what you pay for. Save up for one good one instead of several cheep ones just to get by. Which is what I've been known to do.

My Holster man said you have be careful with suede lined Holsters, he said they collect dust and dirt that can scratch your gun. I have never tried one myself but I did ask him about it, and that's what he told me.

I don't know about suede, I've never had it in any of my holsters. I do know that a good leather holster requires breaking in like a good gun does, it's not going to be perfect out of the box. In all my years I've never found anything worth a hill of beans that didn't require work. I do know that today's generation requires, no demands instant gratification but we aren't that generation and we don't live in that disposable world. I'd like to believe that the majority of us here are old school and are willing to pay the dues and do work that's required to achieve the level of comfort and confidence in the equipment we carry everyday to protect ourselves and our loved ones.

There are enough holster manufacturers and holsters on the market to deplete anyone's budget. I think any of the major holster manufacturers, DeSantis, Galco, Bianchi, Safariland, etc. make great holsters. Your decision is to figure out what kind of holster, pancake, high ride, inside the waist, shoulder, etc. and then shop these manufacturers for something to fit your needs. Don't be surprised if you buy several until you get what you want. I went through all the major makers and settled on a small company with personal service, FIST Inc. If you figure out the type of holster you want maybe some members can give you advise on their experience of the best manufacturers. Good luck!
