Picture request: Stainless + Kimber wood grips

Hi all,

if anybody has a stainless Kimber with the Ruby/Charcoal Laminate 1911 Grips, Full-Size , Tactical 1911 Pistol Grips or Rosewood Double Diamond Logo Grips, Full-Length grips offered in the Kimber store I would be much obliged if you could post some pictures.

If I manage to get a pair of those grips over here I wont be able to return them, so Id like to have an idea about how they might look on my stainless TLE II.

Thanks in advance,

Wolf

Wish I could help. Sounds like a reasonable precaution.

Just in case you did not notice, the grips from the Tacticals are flat bottomed due to the mag guide/well, versus the beveled ones.

Why would it be hard to get Kimber Factory grips there? Do grip panels fall under ITAR?

I ask since I have a new unfired Tactical Custom HD. Its been in the safe for over a year, without a shot...I always change the grips. So IF I do not end up in federal prison let me know....I would sell those so I can put VZ grips on it. I have tried to sell it for $1150 with no takers.

Any wood grips you put on a Stainless will look great. It's just a matter of what type of wood you like. Any color will match a Stainless.

Not Exactly What You Wanted

Not exactly what you asked for but wanted to give you something. First let me say I think the Charcoal/Ruby or the Rosewood Double Diamond either one looks great on Stainless pistols. This is my Stainless Ultra Carry 9mm. First one does not have the "Kimber" logo but they are Rosewood Double Diamond. The second is Blue/Black Ball Mill. I don't care for the color of the Tactical grips.
Hope this helps you some. You might want to read thru the "Photo Topic" for ideas.

You want something guaranteed to look fabulous on a SS Kimber, get the grips that come on a Raptor. The zebra work with all the etching looks fantastic.

I had a set of those I had purchased on eBay. I gave them to a good friend that had his father's old stainless kimber that he carried on the police force. It had the rubber finger grips on it. We installed the raptor grips and it was beautiful. It didn't look like the same gun.

Gator those are some of the best looking grips Kimber has but I don't think they sell them in the "Kimber Shop." He would have to get some off of Ebay from private seller probably.
