Custom carry

Just bought this pistol with the crimson trace grip. Love so far. I have only put 100 rounds through it so far. Will be going to the range next week. It is my edc. The laser is factory set for 50'. Should I shorten that up being that it is my edc?

I'd test fire it first. The laser is a flat line, the bullet has parabolic drop. I think most jurisdictions consider 21 feet to be the "defensive zone.' Anything further away is not an emergency.

If your pistol is "point-blank" at 21 feet, then adjust your laser to center mass at that distance. Mine was close enough right out of the box.

Congrats on the Custom Carry.

I think you'll find the laser to be within a couple of inches at 21'. I had a Custom Crimson Carry II, but didn't like the laser, so I replace the grip. I hope you have great luck with your laser.

'Gator, that was my experience. I wonder if Yonkers sets them that way, assuming a laser is going to be used primarily for defense.

That would be my guess, Chico. Laser has to be the quickest point 'n shoot system there is for the inexperience shooter. Without the laser I try to hold a 4" group at 10 yards (30 feet.) I know that's not very good but for defensive purposes I think it will work. With a laser I couldn't hold a 4" group at 7 yards (21 feet.) Everyone is different.

Crimson Trace zeros them before they get shipped.

Been to the range with it once. It was a bright day so I could not see the dot on paper. I work offshore in the oilfield. My trips to the range are limited. I work 28 days then 14 off.
