Ultra eject problems vs. Solo

I'm wanting to buy either a CDP II Ultra or Raptor Ultra and am concerned that these may have the same eject problems as I had on my Solo. Can someone give me some feedback on this issue?

Though I have no Solo experience I can say that if you encounter any extraction or ejection issue with a 1911 they are easily corrected. Either by the end user, customer service or a reputable local smith.

Unlike the Solo the 1911 has been around long enough that many folks know how to work on them, parts are readily available.

No choice there my friend, you have to go with the Raptor in SS if you can, it's a gun you'll keep forever. And the other guys are right on about any difficulties. Great weighted weapon and an excellent shooter thats easy to carry.

Once I did some research, I found out that the Solo had a lot of these issues. Kimber's response was to use specific ammo and a firmer grip. That's fine but I would not trust this in a self-defense situation.

I think Mike is the best qualified on function and reliability here. Me I prefer the 45 always just a comfortable round to shoot and KImber has so many beautiful options to pick from. I had a CDP Ultra and loved it but the SS Raptor is to me outstanding on looks and feel. A million opinions on this forum and most all excellent just gets down to your preference. Don't get talked into something you really don't want, so go get the Raptor and don't look back. Mine is the pro 4inch model but the Ultra 3 inch is super also.

I've had 3 solos and I'm down to one right now. I have not had any problems with any of mine ejecting or any issues (thank the good lord) but I did a lot of research mostly here and got a lot of good feed back before I purchased mine.

I have a Custom Crimson II, Super Carry Ultra Plus and a Solo. All three had problems at the beginning. I shot through the problems with the CCII, had a local Smith fix the FTRTB on the Ultra and sent the Solo back to Kimber for an attitude adjustment. All three work fine and I will buy another Kimber.

Jimmydei, welcome to the forum, I have an Ultra CDP II with about 1500 trouble free rounds. The same goes for my Ultra Tactical II.
