slide stop gouged!!

so i bought a used pro carry ii and when i get home i disassembled it and saw this. does anyone else have a gouge like this or was the previous owner just ruthless with it.

That looks like something the previous owner did reinserting the slide release.

that what i meant i mean do they get like this over time or did he gouge it pretty bad.

He probably did it. I am more intrigued by the fact the whole photo seems reversed. Or they made a left pistol? What am I missing?

It just looks like an "idiot scratch"starting at the bottom and going up.If the bare metal where the slide stop goes in isn't damaged I wouldn't worry too much.After all it is used.If it does bother you too much,you can always get it re-finished.Just keep it oiled and watch out for rust.Happy shooting to you.Oh,and I'm not passing judgement on anyone for having an "idiot scratch",as I am certainly guilty of the same offence.

I think it's a reversed picture with an "idiot scratch". Doesn't look like anything to worry about. As was mentioned, it's a used gun and if it really bothers you, you can always get it refinished!
