Broken Raptor Grip

Yesterday morning my wife and I went shooting. I brought my 3 Kimber's. The Eclipse Pro had new grips I haven't tried, my Diamond Ultra 9 has only been shot once and my Raptor had a new recoil spring install so I want to test the Raptor.

I was having a great day. My shooting was on the money. Then I look down on the bench and see a piece of the Raptor grip missing. I was like WTF, I even looked for the piece and I couldn't find it. I was definitely upset about this because I wasn't sure how Kimber would treat this case. I said to myself, Kimber always does the right thing so calm down. I calmed down as much as I could and said, don't get crazy until you speak with Kimber. I called them today and waited about 10 minutes on hold. I women answered the phone and I told her my problem. She said they would definitely take care of this but because it is a Raptor she said I needs me to send a picture. I said no problem, I have one. I sent the picture and received an email right away saying I will receive new grips soon. I feel much better now and I am very happy with how Kimber handled my problem.

It sucks that that happened to you but it's great that Kimber is taking care of you. If you have the piece you may be able to epoxy it back together until the new grip arrives.

I love Kimber Customer Service. Great people, easy to talk with, I've never had them do anything except try to be as helpful as possible.

Almost looks like someone tightened that top screw to much as it's an odd place for it to crack from shooting

Depends on the grain of the wood.

I don't have to piece, I couldn't find it but it is great that they are going send new grips. The woman said in her email that she never saw a break like that on a Raptor grip. Just my luck to get the one faulty grip. Kimber is doing the right thing and that's all I can ask for.

Snake, if you could see it better the wood is still completely around the screw. If the grip was over tighten you would see a crack through the screw hole. It is wood so it maybe just the way the grain is.

Yah it's hard to tell in the picture but being that it's a Raptor and SS at that and that it's the prettiest and best Kimber available I have to throw in my two cents. I've said before it's like looking at a piece of fine jewelry, stunning.......
