Had a glorious day at an outdoor range yesterday

So one of my favorite outdoor range finally opened the "The Pit" which is basically an open landfill like place where you place your objects you want to shoot (teddy bears, mannequins, etc..). There are different approximate distances but I think its like 50-75 yards and people usually use their rifles for it. We were having lots of fun using my AR15 and my buddies AK and we decided to change it up. We were breaking in a brand new RIA Ultra Tac2 CS 1911. We shot about 200 rounds and it was really impressive for a $600 1911. Thats when I was itching to shoot my kimber that i was carrying on me that day.

Long story short, I decide to use my Kimber to hit targets at 75 yards just for fun. There was bowling pin size target and I was able to make it jump around 4 out 8 shots. Eat your heart out Hickock45!

Seriously...I COULD NOT BELIEVE I ACTUALLY HIT IT! Let alone mulitple times off of one mag! I had more fun doing this than with my AR and my friends AK eheheh.

That is a record for me for hitting a target at 75 yards with a pistol mulitple times. I am so proud of my Kimber Tac2 Ultra 3" barrel 1911!!!!!!!

woohooo!

Just wanted to share my experience! And would like to hear yours coz its awesome and exciting and the 1911 is so magical.

Nice report, great shooting, the Ultra's are more accurate than a lot of people give them credit for.

OK, I have to ask where "The Pit" is, I've never heard of it unless you're talking about Buffalo Range out in Ottawa.

nice shooting, I do have to say, a teddy bear or mannequin might be in some of the things I would have never thought to bring to the "pit". I do like the objects that hikock45 has to shoot at his range.

Chuck, yep, the Buffalo Pit. They finally re-opened the pit. After the EPA and others closed it for a bit.

Hey Chuck, sorry been busy to respond but yes Ottawa's buffalo range opened up the pit (after been closed so many years) and redesigned it which i think it is better and more organized.

Should take your kimbers out there!
