holster reccomendations

I have a full size Super Carry Custom that I am using for my CCW. I have one issue that's causing me problems with how I carry. Due to a shoulder injury I can not roll my wrist over totally to extract my Kimber from a right handed holster so at this time I carry in a left handed Tagua open top holster so I don't have to roll my hand over to extract. . It is adequate but I feel my gun is just not totally concealed like it could be with a holster that has a cant to it. Does anyone have any ideas or thoughts on what I might do differently or a different holster that I might try? Thanks for any help you guys can give.

Don't know how large you are, but sounds like a horizontal shoulder holster might be the trick. Can't remember the name at the moment. I'll get back to you on that.

Send wolf1956 a PM and ask him about making you a cross draw holster. He does great work at a very reasonable price.

Check out his Facebook page. https://facebook.com/kggunholsters

Cross draw would be a good way to carry a full size 1911 and can vouch for the caliber of the work produced by Wolf.

I'm 6'4 230 :-D.

I use a Galco Miami Classic shoulder rig, will run you $150 ish at cabelas or bass pro, but let me tell you.

Its super comfy.......even with a Sig 226/220/229 riding it. and 2 mags. One of mine is for L.E. so it carries the weapon, 1 mag, cuffs and a flashlight and I barely notice the weight.

Also have another one for my 1911's which is even lighter. Great for sitting, standing, running, jumping and especially riding in a car.

Sounds to me like you need to be looking for either a cross draw or shoulder rig. Good shoulder rigs are expensive. My choice would be the cross draw. I went through a cross draw phase a few years ago. I had one that I liked a lot: the Bianchi Model 111 Cyclone Cross Draw. Check it out at:Bianchi 111 Cyclone Crossdraw Holster Right Hand 1911 Government

Hope this fits the bill for you pistol totin' requirements. Shoot straight, keep 'em in the 10 ring and be safe!!!
