Concealed carry in the car

I found this site online tonight and it looks like a good setup. You can mount it a lot of different ways. I'm going to order one to put in the console. They also have them for Kimbers.

Holster is attached to front of driver seat. Short reach between my knees, and I have it in hand.

Hey Johnny, That's a pretty cool set up! Just be careful with that Serpa style holster...there's been some issues with those. My local training facility doesn't allow them...YMMV!

I cleaned out all of the springs and clasps in it so it's just a slip in holster.

What are the issues you've come across?

Mostly I hear stories of goof balls with poor finger control shooting themselves because they depress the release, pull the weapon, and they allow their finger to enter the trigger guard *bang*

I always use a straight finger when using a Serpa. That way the release is depressed, and when the weapon is drawn, my finger is along the frame, where it belongs.

I can see where some ranges/schools would rather ban them than fix the goofy shooter.

I totally under stand that. Fortunately I was well trained and very discipline with using the straight finger method in every holster I've had. I saw a video of a guy who shot himself drawing from a Serpa. People just need to train their muscle memory to not put your finger in the trigger before your gun is faced at the target. Lots of practice!

So if you put your finger on the trigger while pulling gun from holster it will shoot? damndest thing I have ever heard of. They should ban all holsters and sue the gun makers.
