Shoulder holster Recommendations

I have a Kimber Master Carry Pro 4 thinking of getting a shoulder rig for it. Any recommendations would be appreciated

I can't recommend a brand name to you ( I make my own) but I can recommend materials and features that you might consider - Leather for the holster, Leather shoulder mounts, 1 1/2" nylon straps that secure all pieces together, leather double mag pouch, and make sure you have belt straps along with a good leather belt. Things to stay away from - the miami vice style holster - It doesn't work as advertised! Leather is a good medium and will last longer than nylon but nylon straps will give you a lot more freedom as you move versus leather. Good luck!

I also have the Galco Miami Classic, formerly known as the Jackass rig, and agree completely with Al's comments. It's the best shoulder rig I've encountered for my 1911's, fully adjustable, and the quality and execution is excellent. Two thumbs up.

Nice thing about the Jackass over the Miami Classic is its easier to carry a full size 1911 as the Jackass slants the muzzle up instead of straight back in the Classic. Doesnt poke into the back of your Jacket or cover garment.

www.holsters.org

I met and bought one Andy Arratoonian years ago, at his, (then new), location outside of Leeds, England. I had him send me one of his shoulder rigs, for my Browning HP. That was about 1986. It is still a very beautiful and serviceable piece of work. You cannot go wrong.

Have you seen the Urban Carry rigs? They have a modular system that lets you use the same holster with various carry methods, IWB, OWB, shoulder, & leg. You need the shell and whatever carry method you want to try. I thought this was a pretty good idea.

I believe the answer is 'yes', as the front of the rig is open, so barrel/slide length is not an issue.

Al Carins: I was unaware that the Jackass and Miami Classic were actually a bit different, always thinking the MC name was just a re-brand when Galco took over production.
