New Guy - Dumb Question

Hi all from Cape Fear, NC!

I have read several references that say the Kimber Micro 9 and the Sig P938 are the same gun. They sure look to be the same other than cosmetic differences.

Is the 'same gun' claim valid or not?

Thanks for the new guy.......

I have the Sig 238 and 938 no problems with either one. I'm going to wait about a year to get a Micro 9 till the problems get resolved.

I had a 938 and then my wife stold it from me. She loves it and I get to clean it. I don't think she will want to swap it for a Micro 9.

Welcome to the forum from northern Illinois Daedalus-NC, we don't believe there are dumb questions. If you have a question ask it and we'll do our best to answer it. Now how about stopping by our "New Member Introduction" sub forum and introducing yourself to the membership?

I'll second that, Chuck talked me into one last year. No regrets. It's now my summer carry.

Apart from the external extractor on Sig yea, the two guns are the virtually the same in terms of function.

On the other hand, if you compare a Micro Carry and Sig P238 (both in .380), there is a major functional difference in barrel lockup. While the Micro stayed true to the original Colt Mustang design with a single barrel locking lug - similarly to a 1911, the Sig opted for locking the barrel into the ejection port (just as on any other Sig, HK, or even the Micro 9).
