Replace Guide Rod Spring

How many replace the guide rod spring as recommended by Kimber every 1,500 rounds? Is there an easy way to tell it needs replacing? Thanks for any insights.

Thanks. I always liked the black and ivory. Got grips on eBay.

Like CuCa said, "If you're thinking you should; mabey you should. They're cheap enough"

You can also buy a recoil spring tester down the road to test the strength of any recoil spring.

As Marshall already said the only way to really tell if your recoil spring needs replacing is to test it with a scale. I have a "Secure Firearms" spring tester and in addition to checking your recoil springs you can also use it on your firing pin and main springs.
