Micro 9 Raptor thumb safety

I lust picked up a micro 9 raptor and am considering carrying it but I have concerns with the thumb safety. I have noticed the left side safety is very solid as I would expect but the right side is much looser and wobbles up and down a bit. It actually doesnít feel like it is on the same gun. Is this normal or am I going to have to send it back for repair? I bought it new and only have about 150 rounds through it.

I would be suspicious. Things like safety's aren't usually mushy like that.

Welcome to the site from Tennessee.

IMO safety is not functioning correctly.

Thanks for the replies. Thatís about what I figured, itís not that bad but not as solid as the other side. I will be calling CS in the morning. I must say I am some what dissapointed, I had hoped paying a bit more for a Kimber would prevent QC return issues.

Just got off the phone with CS and apparently the gun is designed for right handed people so the safety lever on the right side is going to be a little loose. Not quite sure how that works, but they said as long it doesnít get any worse itís good to go.
Chuck I will do as you ask.

Yea my raptors right side safety is a little wobbly for lack of a better word, but if you take it apart you will under stand why. The right hand safety just fits onto a square extension from the left side and is only held on by a t-slot. Long story short it shouldn't be an issue just really the nature of the best with this design.

I've got my micro 9 cdp in my hand right now, my right side safety is tight not wobbly or loose.

I was reading this and going, what Micro 9 has an ambi-safety? Not too many of them, but some. My right handed one side only safety is reasonably tight. I've had a couple firearms with ambi-safeties; I didn't like them. The safety on the right side, dug into my trigger finger on the palm near the knuckle. Had to reshape it with my Dremel tool

I object and disagree with Kimber's CS response to you. Makes no difference if you are right or left handed.

I would rather NOT have a ambi safety as opposed to having a "floppy" safety.

Have you taken it apart?

I say something is broken or at the very least way out of spec!

I've read on other forum's of high dollar Wilson's and Brown's and others being returned for minor and major problems.
