Micro 9 Raptor May not be the right choice for me...

So I picked up a Micro 9 Raptor 28 days ago. The gun is beautiful, runs very well, and I am dead-on with it. I love the the feel and sights, as well.
So whatís the problem?
I bought this gun to replace my Glock 42 as my daily carry. The main reason for my switch was to bump up to the 9mm and added safety (plus this gun is beautiful). I have carried this gun in a few different IWB holsters everyday and all day since Iíve purchased it. I break it down and clean it probably twice a week because of lint, dirt, and dust - so I like to think that Iíve done my part on taking care of it. In the month that Iíve had it, Iím getting quite a bit of surface rust on the stainless slide (I understand that all stainless can accumulate some surface rust), but Iíve also noticed the finish on the aluminum frame is wearing off pretty quick.
Iím just disappointed that my raptor is already starting to look as aged as my G42 that Iíve carried daily for over 4 years.
Were my expectations too high?
Itís not allowing me to attach pictures for some reason...

Well that doesn't sound good or look good! I've had my micro 380 and 9mm a couple of years now and they don't look like that.

Thanks for the response. Do you carry them often?

Jlacour,
I am not the best person to advise you. I have a raptor .380 and a 9mm Pro CDP. In both cases I had to send them back for various coating reasons, very early on after they were bought. Kimber customer service is outstanding and I would call them, send it back and let them make it right and carry your G42 until they send it back.

Thank you for the advice. I really havenít thought about it enough to call kimber, and Iím not trying to bash or compare their products to competitors.
I guess I was just trying to get a general consensus about what Iím experiencing.
I do appreciate you taking the time to share your experience.

I agree with Karenschro, send it back to Kimber to fix or replace it. You paid too much for it to corrode or shed its coating. I also agree that Kimber's customer service is very good, but their turn around times are not so good. My experience on 3 occasions was 6 weeks minimum. Hopefully it is less now.

You sure it's the stainless that's showing corrosion, or did they spray the stainless slide with the same rattle can of Kimbo-leum that they used on the aluminum frame?

Not that it matters... they need to fix it.

Iím not sure what ďkimbo-leumĒ is, but itís definitely small amounts of surface rust that Iíve had to abrasively scrub off multiple times already. Sorry, itís hard to capture in the picture.
