Micro 9 front site

Took the Micro 9 ss lg out for the first range session today. No hiccups at all for about 50 rds or so then the front sight disappeared! I found it on the ground behind me. Seems as though it worked right out of the dovetail. Any ideas on how to keep it from doing it again? Havent put it back on uet was thinking about sending it to Kinber.

I would send it back to Kimber if it was mine.

One of my Micro 9's did the same thing and all I did was add a bit of LocTite to it and it never has moved again.
Tejun and JC45 like this.

Marshall is right. I wouldn't send it back until I have exhausted all efforts to sit the item properly if it doesn't have any movement while in the dovetail. If you insert the sight and it wiggles while in the dovetail, I would send it back tho.

JMHO but I would send the gun back to Kimber. The sight may be under size or the dovetail in the slide may be oversize, you don't know. Gluing it in today may solve the problem but what happens if down the road you want to upgrade the sights and the problem turns out to be the dovetail in the slide? Today Kimber will correct the problem, down the road they may say sorry or it will cost you $$$$$.

Sent it back to Kimber and had it back in a week. New front site and they replaced the recoil spring and a grip screw that was also missing. Only one thing...they put a white dot front site on it and it came with a fiber optic one. Called Kimber and they are sending me a replacement fiber optic front site but I have to pay someone to put it on for me.

I had the same front sight issue with my PRO CDPII 9mm, noticed the hits on the paper drifting...
Kimber fixed it for free and I've not had any subsequent problems. Out of curiosity have you asked if they would handle the re-fit of the fiber optic front for you? I'd suggest asking as they may have done something that will making the one they installed a challenge to remove? If you push a little they'll probably help you out.
Good luck
