Change Ambi Safety to Right Hand Only

Is it possible to change the ambidextrous safety to a single safety for a right hand shooter? I tend to pocket carry my Micro 9, and twice I have found that during the day my thumb safety clicked off. I suspect that the right hand side (which faces out during normal carry) might be bumping into something that knocks the safety off.

Here’s a video to watch, there are many more. I didn’t watch this one yet but it seems to be what your looking for.

Thanks very much for trying. I have switched all of my larger 1911ís over to single sided safeties. I have not been able to find a single sided safety on the internet that fits a Micro-9.

Have you spoken to Kimber?
My Micro 9 has a factory single side safety for a right handed shooter.

No, I have not spoken with Kimber yet. But perhaps I ought to do that. Thanks.

You might check out using a Sig P238 single side safety that is put in the Sig P938 to replace the ambi safety.
There are plenty of videos around to show that.

A follow-up question came to mind after watching a disassembly video of a Sig P938. Would it be a simple fix to simply remove the right side of the Kimber Micro-9 Ambidextrous safety, and simply leave the left hand side of the Ambi Safety on to do all of the safety work? If that's a possibility, then, it might eliminate all of the fitting work that might be associated with using a Sig Safety on a Kimber Micro-9. Just a thought (but possibly could be a mind fart).
