New Micro 9 Ammo opinions

I've owned about a billion guns over the years and just acquired an M9 SSLG as a gift. What great kids I have!! I have a large amount of Sig 124Gr HP and Federal HST 150 Gr HP which work perfectly in my Shields and Glocks. I know small guns can be ammo finicky, any advice about these or other brands.
Thanks and aint I lucky I live in the land of the free, Arizona, and will enjoy a gifted firearm without concern!!

AZVET, welcome to the site from also free Tennessee.

Do yourself a favor clean, lube and run your new Micro9 extra wet.

There is no good answer on ammo on small pistols. However, as you know the break-in period of up to 500 rounds makes sense and gives you range time to get used to it.

New grips, sights, trigger, & etc. take getting used to.

It should be reliable with good 124 gr or 147 gr defense ammo like HST. FMJ is up to you.

Welcome from Central AZ....I have a not new M9 STG and it seems to not be picky about what it is fed. It pretty much shoots everything...As has been mentioned, run it wet through the break in....

It will take a bit of getting used to as it can be a handful. Mine recoils as much if not more than my Ultra CDPII in .45. That much recoil with so little to hold on to can be challenging...

YMMV

My kimber has been jamming on Winchester 9mm luger 115 grain fmj bullets but has been shooting fiocchi 115 grain fmj just fine any reasons why it is jamming on the Winchester but not the fiocchi?

My micro 9 and other small 9s run well on the ammo you mentioned. My favorite and the most accurate for me seems to be the 124 grn. 124 hst for defense, and I use 124 blazer brass for target.

Welcome to the forum AZVET, I'd recommend getting the gun broken in using a good FMJ round before trying various JHP SD rounds. How about stopping by our "New Member Introduction" sub forum and introducing yourself to the membership?

You say jamming, but what is it failing to do? Feed? Extract the spent brass? Eject it?

More info would help....
