Holster

I've always had a soft spot for the old Tom Threepersons design with open toe and hammer thong (in this case, beavertail thong).

Just got one from El Paso Saddlery, and am pleased with it.

Just this one.
The magazine is a modified 8-round Sig P290 (I like them better than the 8-round Kimber mag). The little protrusion in the front is the hammer thong knot. I will retie it to make it disappear in side view

Yes, that's one of the Tom Threepersons characteristics.
It's a 90 year old design. I've been using this holster style for 60 years, so am used to it.

Does the hammer/safety dig into your side?

No. It's on the outboard side of the belt loop. I have one of these for my 1911 Commander, Browning Hi-Power, Micro 9, and J-frame. I'm sort of fond of the design.

I carry osw and still have problems w/ the hammer and beavertail gouging me,, I only weigh 155 and 5'7''. I had a hard time finding a holster that had a tab of leather that extended above the hammer.

Jim, here's a couple of my leather IWB rigs that both cover the beavertail/hammer area of my auto's, and both cover the trigger too.

Milt Sparks VM2 for my Ultra's:

Better view of the hammer protector:

Adams Leatherworks Mod. 2 for my Micro 9:

This rig also fits my P938 perfectly.

Is the bottom one a Sparks, too? The reinforcement is pointed, where my Sparks are rounded. Also, your bottom holster has double rowed stitching on the back side.
